THE STENNY GIRLS

Stenhousemuir FC Girls

ABOUT US

The "Stenny Girls" are the youth section of Stenhousemuir FC Ladies' Team who were formed in 2007 and have enjoyed a successful first season in the SWFA (Scottish Women's Football Association) National League Division 3 ending in promotion to Division 2. The Ladies' team have just finished their second season as runners-up in Division 2.

Coaching is provided by SFA qualified and Disclosue-checked staff who aim to provide structured football for girls of all ages in the local area. We are also busy working towards the coveted SFA Quality Mark.

The sessions are designed for girls of all abilities develop their skills, play competitive football and make new friends in a safe, fun atmosphere.

For those players who show promise, we currently have teams registered with the SWFA at u-11, u-13 and u-15 age groups who are playing their first seasons of competitive football in the Central Leagues. Stenhousemuir is also entered in the FVFDA "Fun Fours" which take place at Little Kerse, Grangemouth every Saturday morning. These are aimed at providing competitive football in a fun, friendly atmosphere for kids in Primary 1 to 4. Next season (2010) we are loking to start up an Under-17 team and this will give us a full "player pathway" from Under-9 to Senior Ladies Team.

We are always striving to make our players better footballers whilst never losing sight of the fact that they have to enjoy their football in order to acheive this. This is why we pride ourselves on the community spirit we have evolved at the club over the short time we have existed, whether it be through fundraising nights, matchdays at Ochilview or travelling to tournaments such as the Forfar Sevens or the Umbro Cup in Manchester.

U-11 & U-13 training is held at Ochilview Park (on the main pitch) every Wednesday night from 5pm to 6pm with an extra, more team-based, development session on Fridays (5-6pm). U-15 training is held on the main pitch at Ochilview Park from 6.30 to 8.00pm, also on Wednesdays with a conditioning session on Thursdays from 6pm at Shipshape Gym, Falkirk. The teams are currently looking for girls of all abilities and ages to come along and join in as we look to expand the amount and quality of football on offer to girls in the local community. There's no obligation when you first come along. Try it out and if you enjoy it you can ask one of the coaches for a registration form and get signed up !

So why not come along and see for yourself ?

There are a number of ways to find out more. Either come along in person one Wednesday night or go to the "CONTACTS"  page of this site.
